Fred & Lindsay

After being city dwellers for more than 10 years, Fred and Lindsay found themselves ready to try something new in the burbs with their son Freddie and dog Sadie. From small upgrades to the trees out front, a large garden bed in the back, along with adding a nursery and the basement being converted into a large playroom space, Fred and Lindsay made this house their home. Read the story of 2056 Coral Street now!

How would you describe your personal interior design style?

Eclectic - its modern with a bit of a collection of things both of us love

If you could only choose one song to play every time you walked into a room, what would it be?

Play that funky music white boy. Mostly to see Fred's dance moves

How would you describe your neighborhood?

Dynamic - there is always something going on, someone to chat with, or a new spot to try out

If you could use your house as the setting for a remake of a movie, which movie would it be?

Marley & Me. Not only was it set in the Philly area, its about a family founded on love. And our dog, Sadie, was a doggy preschool dropout who isn't the best at listening, thank goodness she's super cute

What was your non-negotiable when it came to finding your dream home?

Location! We wanted to be close to the action

What's your favorite room? Why?

Third floor master. Its a large bedroom with exposed brick with just steps away from wet bar on your way to the roof deck. Oh, and the shower. Best. Shower. Ever.

What is one thing you need in your home to make it yours?

Our artwork we've been collecting over the last decade

What makes you (or your family) laugh?

Most recently, it's been our almost 3 year old - the sayings and stories that come out of his mouth during dinner often has us in stitches

If you could throw a theme party in your house, what would be the theme?

Well we did throw a Circus themed first birthday party that was a big hit

A day spent running around the neighborhood: what's your first stop and last stop?

First stop is to grab a coffee and bagel from Steap and Grind. Last stop is a glass of red wine and cheese plate at Fishtown Social

How has your home changed from move-in day?

Oh, lots. We were able to upgrade some of the greenery - trees outfront and a large garden bed in the back. Along the way we also added a nursery and our basement was converted into a large playroom space

What's your favorite memory of your home?

Bringing our son home from the hospital. It was equally thrilling and terrifying

What was the catalyst to you purchasing a new home?

After over a decade of being city dwellers, we were ready to try something new in the burbs

What's your favorite piece of Philly culture?

The food especially all of our favorite Fishtown spots
