Cassie and Paul never realized the imapct Fishtown would have on their family, and also the movie Frozen, but for different reasons. Now with Cassie’s new job, they are headed out of the city - but not without the memories to last them a lifetime! They may not be ready to Let it Go just yet, but you know they’ll be back for drinks at Suraya frequently. Check out the story of Cassie, Paul and Emma in their home in South Kensington/Fishtown.

How would you describe your personal interior design style?
Modern with mid-century vibes.

If you could only choose one song to play every time you walked into a room, what would it be?
The Beatles - Here Comes The Sun. It always makes us smile and feel at ease.

How would you describe your neighborhood?
Vibrant and family-friendly— We love the access to all of the amazing restaurants, as well as the strong support network and resources for young families.

If you could use your house as the setting for a remake of a movie, which movie would it be?
We think it would have to be Frozen—every night while cooking dinner our daughter asks to listen to the soundtrack, and dances and sings along in the kitchen. It makes her so happy and melts our hearts.

What was your non-negotiable when it came to finding your dream home?
Walkability to local shops/restaurants and off-street parking.

What's your favorite room? Why?
Our roof decks! We have really enjoyed inviting family and friends over for BBQs, watching the fireworks on the 4th of July, and having a spot for our daughter to splash in her baby pool during the summer.

What is one thing you need in your home to make it yours?
Photos of family and friends.

What makes you (or your family) laugh?
Watching old episodes of Seinfeld, The Office, or Parks and Recreation--- even though we've seen them a million times!

If you could throw a theme party in your house, what would be the theme?
Oktoberfest! We had the opportunity to travel around Germany a few times, and have had a blast at local celebrations in Philly. It would be fun to try to recreate that same energy at our home with friends and family.

A day spent running around the neighborhood: what's your first stop and last stop?
First stop: Coffee at La Colombe before walking over to PlayArts.

Last stop: Dinner and drinks at Suraya.

How has your home changed from move-in day?
We've made small changes to make the house feel more like our home by adding lots of artwork and photos from our travels.

What's your favorite memory of your home?
Bringing our daughter home after she was born. She surprised us by arriving a little early on Christmas morning, but luckily we had the nursery all ready to go

What was the catalyst to you purchasing a new home?
Cassie was recently offered a new job in Princeton, NJ. We are so sad to leave the city and home we have come to love, but are looking forward to new adventures--- and a shorter commute!

What's your favorite piece of Philly culture?
The diverse food scene. We've loved discovering and trying food from all around the world here. There is really something for everyone!
