Flowers make people happy! πŸ’From wedding and celebration arrangements to crowns and wreaths (all made with love in South Philly!).

We asked our very own Zoe Fox to answer some of our questions about her thriving flower business!

Make sure to follow her on Instagram!

1. How did you come up with the name of your business?

When I married my husband in 2016 I couldn’t wait to take his last name because it’s so perfect β€” Zoe Fox β€” and honesty Zoe Fox Flowers is a lazy business name because it meant I didn’t have to file extra paperwork with the state of Pennsylvania, haha!

2. How did you get started in this business?

I’ve always been an artsy kid and grew up loving flowers and always making things. I caught the wedding bug when my older sister got married when I was 14, she had purchased a bug bucket of local flowers and needed help getting them arranged so I jumped right in. After that, I volunteered to do as many friends’ weddings as I could. Eventually, I got a job working in a flower shop, then later in 2013 I started booking my own weddings and my little business was born.

3. If you could only choose one song to play every time you walked into a room, what would it be?

All I do is Win by DJ Khaled.

4. Where do you go in Philadelphia for inspiration?

OMG! So many places, where do I start?! The streets of Philadelphia are my therapy and provide huge inspiration. I love a leisurely stroll through the Italian Market, smelling the smells and tasting the tastes. There is a lot of life that happens in that little strip, I really love it.

5. Where was your last road trip?

Our little fam took a mini-road trip to Lancaster for my husband’s birthday last month – a 1.5 hour trip from Philly perfect with a toddler in tow and you know I made them stop for PYO flowers on our way home.

6. If you wrote a memoir, what would be the title?

You have to laugh to keep from crying, and other nonsense.

7. What’s your favorite piece of Philly culture?

The mummers. File this as my official petition to bring them back to South Philly.

8. What’s your favorite local meal?

Soup dumplings from Dim Sum Garden, hands down.

9. What makes you laugh?

What doesn’t make me laugh?! Life is funny.

10. What is one thing you need in your workspace to make it your own?

Photos of my daughter.

11. What did you want to be when you were younger? Does that have any significance to what you do now?

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a herpetologist, a scientist who studies reptiles and amphibians. I wanted to live in the Amazon rainforest and commune with nature. Frogs are still my favorite, but I love all little creatures. I keep dog treats in my studio for my neighbors and customers stopping by.

12. What is one book that changed your perspective?

A book by motivational speaker Andy Andrews, The 7 Decisions. I’ve listened to and read it over and over in different seasons of my life and I keep coming back to it.

13. What do you need to make a decision?

I need to figure out the best case scenario and worst case and get advice from my personal board of directors if I’m really stuck.

14. What’s the best question you’ve ever been asked?

When my husband asked me to marry him - OBV I said Yes!

15. What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

When I finally get to hand a bride her bouquet and she tears up with joy, that really does it for me. I get emotional designing people’s wedding flowers, even if I don’t know them well, I really consider it a great honor to bring that flower magic into their wedding day. When you get to create art that’s meaningful to peopleβ€”that’s what it’s all about.
