“We have carved out a small little niche in this neighborhood, Palethorp knows each other. We have group texts that help us keep an eye on our stuff, and plan epic block parties! Everyone on this block is invested in each other from a fun standpoint to a safety standpoint. Palethorp is not just a street, it is a family.”

How would you describe your personal interior design style?

We don't have a particular style. We tend to style rooms based on what we want to use the room for. Our basement is our living, it is cozy and gives us a space to watch movies and play games. Our front room comes from all put our family travels. It is comfortable and encourages conversation among friends.

How would you describe your neighborhood?

Home. We have carved out a small little niche in this neighborhood, Palethorp knows each other. We have group texts that help us keep an eye on our stuff, and plan epic block parties! Everyone on this block is invested in each other from a fun standpoint to a safety standpoint. Palethorp is not just a street, it is a family.

If you could use your house as the setting for a remake of a movie, which movie would it be?

Grown Ups: We love having friends over to grill, wine, cheese, or UFC on the roof. Having those that matter close to us creates such an awesome vibe!

What was your non-negotiable when it came to finding your dream home?

Our son Lincoln said: ROOFDECK!

What's your favorite room? Why?

The front room. Being able to have a room that inspires and encourages conversation was very important. When thinking about this room, we drew from the few times we have been to England. We wanted a nice lounge/cigar bar (minus the cigars) feel.

What is one thing you need in your home to make it yours?

Our thing isn't a thing, it is the people that make our lives better.

What makes you (or your family) laugh?

Pretty much everything, having a teen son in the house makes for very hilarious moments. Not to mention we are just goofy all around.

If you could throw a theme party in your house, what would be the theme?

Underground, speakeasy type party.

A day spent running around the neighborhood: what's your first stop and last stop?

First stop would have to be Streetside on Girard for a Lemon Basil water with Chia seeds (gotta be good and hydrated). Last stop would probably be Johnny Brenda's to see our buddy Jerrel that works the door or El Bar. There is just something magical about ending a long productive day at a dove bar.

How has your home changed from move-in day?

Our home has a different character now. We have come in and added little touches that are us.

What's your favorite memory of your home?

Gosh, there have been a lot. I think I would roll them all up into the accomplishments that we all have achieved here in Philly. From new jobs, exciting adventures, Freshman year playing varsity soccer as well as playing internationally for our son. There are too many great ones to pick one.

What's your favorite piece of Philly culture?

STEAKS!
